Maryam Apaokagi, known professionally as Taaooma, is a Nigerian comedian, content creator, cinematographer, and social media influencer.
She currently serves as the CEO, and founder of Chop Tao, a food company, and directs for The Greenade Company, a cinematography firm. She is known for playing multiple roles in her skits.
Taaooma was born on the 28th of February, 1999 in her hometown, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria to a Yoruba mother whose name is Mrs Aishat Apaokagi.
Taaooma got married to her long-term boyfriend, Abdulazeez Greene Oladimeji popularly known as Abula, on the 23rd of January, 2021.
The duo tied the knot shortly after Abula had proposed to her on the roof of a magnificent hotel in the beautiful city of Namibia.
She opened up that they had been together for five years, since 2015 (when she was 16), before finally getting married.
Taaooma started her education in Kwara State before proceeding to Abuja to complete her primary education. She later went to complete her secondary school education at Concordia College, Namibia.
She came back to Nigeria to complete her tertiary education at the Kwara State University, Nigeria where she studied Tourism and Travel Services Management.
Taaooma completed her one-year NYSC service in 2020.
Taaooma started comedy skits in 2015 after she heeded her boyfriend’s advice, who encouraged her to start comedy skits.
She became popular after she released her first comedy skit in 2016. Since then, she has been an icon to note in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Taaooma’s style of comedy is always mimicking a typical African mother, which has given her popularity.
Taaooma was dragged into a controversy relating to the former senate president, Bukola Saraki, and human rights activist, Rinu Oduala.
Some criticizers said Oduala did the same thing she hauled Taaooma for when she alongside some other comedians visited Vice president Yemi Osibanjo in November 2021.
The human rights activist invited the presidential candidate to her show to discuss the upcoming 2023 elections. However, Taaooma gave a reasonably explanation about all that happened during their discussion with the vice president.
Taaooma has an estimated net worth of $500,000.
