 FMITI tasks staff on integrity professionalism

The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, FMITI, has called on its members of staff to always abide with the key principles of the Civil Service which is primarily predicated on Stewardship, Trust. Engagement and Professionalism.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Evelyn Ngige made the call during the 2023 Recognition and Reward Ceremony organized for its Staff in Abuja.

Mrs Ngige, who was represented by the Director, Policy, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr Babagana Alkali said they virtues are driving principles for harnessing both human and natural resources for national development.

“As chill servants, we are therefore required to always observe the evergreen ethics of integrity, Incestry and productivity; in order to promote and sustain effective and efficient service delivery for the socio-economic development of the nation irrespective of the position we occupy or schedules assigned to us, we are expected to be sincere and committed to the process of identifying, prioritizing and facultating policies, programmes and projects that have a positive impact on the citizens ” She stated

According to her, the staff are to always belance productivity, proper utilization of resources and service delivery to ensure sustained national growth and development

“To achieve efficient resource utilization, officers must be properly equipped to deliver on their respective schedules of duty and the Management has therefor within svallable resources, continued to address capacity gaps with the regular conduct of specialised training, carried out both at the Deperimental and Ministry levels” the Permanent Secretary explained

Mrs Ngige stressed that In recent past, the Ministry has carried out a series of training for all levels of officers in the areas of personnel management noting that those engagements had gone a long way to enhance productivity

Some of the staff who spoke at the occasion called for more welfare packages that would boost their productivity

They also stressed the need for regular training and retraining of the workforce towards achieving the mandate of the Ministry.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to twelve Staff of the Ministry who have distinguished themselves in their services.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, the Director of Trade Department in the Ministry, Mr Suleiman Audu said they gesture would further encourage them to put in their best in their day to day activities

He advised the awardees and other staff of the Ministry to always be committed and dedicated to duty for optimal performance
