Tambuwal behind election violence in Sokoto, APC alleges

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto has accused Governor Àminu Tambuwal of inciting Peoples Democratic Party members to cause mayhem in the forthcoming governorship and state Assembly elections billed for this Saturday.
Addressing journalists n Sokoto, the chairman of the APC in the state, Isa Sadiq Achida called on various security agencies in the state to put Tambuwal on their watchlist because his recent political utterances “have become worrisome as they are calls for violence”, Achida warned.
According to him, the state governor recently held a PDP stakeholders meeting in Kasarawa where he allegedly mandated his party supporters to arrest and detain any opposition supporter they felt “is a threat to PDP at any polling unit in the state”, hence the APC believed these utterances from a desperate political leader should be checkmated.

Salame but we commend him for distancing himself from the militant comments make by Gov. Tambuwal”, the APC chairman stated.
He emphasized that the order by the President to shoot at sight anyone who snatched or destroyed ballot boxes was still applicable nationwide and Sokoto was not an exception.
He therefore warned youths irrespective of their political affiliation to shun violence as leaders of tomorrow adding that “you should not allow selfish politicians to use you for violence while their children are comfortably staying at home enjoying”.
