 FCT announces major disruption in Abuja s water supply tells residents what to do

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Water Board says there will be disruption in water supply to several parts of Abuja from 10 January, 2023 as a result of emergency maintenance at Lower Usuman Dam.

The board, which said the maintenance would last till 12 January, listed areas that would be affected by the disruption as Maitama, Asokoro, Garki I, Garki 2, Kubwa I, Kubwa 2, Airport and Gwagwalada.

This is contained in a public announcement by the FCT Water Board sighted by PlatinumPost correspondent on Sunday.

It reads : “This is to inform the general public that FCT Water Board will carry out an emergency maintenance at Lower Usuman Dam.

” The Maintenance work is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 10th to Thursday 12th January 2023.

” Consequently, there will be disruption of the water supply to the residents of Maitama, Asokoro, Garki I, Garki 2, Kubwa I, Kubwa 2, Airport, and Gwagwalada areas.

” In view of this development, the general public is hereby advised to store water for the period of this maintenance in order to avoid any inconveniences.

” The FCT Water Board wishes to assures its esteemed customers, that regular water supply service will be restored on Saturday evening, 14th January, 2023.

” We regret any inconveniences this exercise may cause you.
