Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, has sent a special message to party’s supporters in Oyo State who organised a rally for him in Ibadan on Thursday.
PlatinumPost reports that some PDP chieftains in Oyo State had organised the pro-Atiku’s rally in defiance of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Makinde is a member of the Group of Five (G5) Governors in PDP opposed to the national chairman of the party , Iyorchia Ayu and Atiku’s candidacy.
The chieftains, who organised the rally include Wole Oyelese, Jumoke Akinjide and a former deputy governor, Hazeem Gbolarumi, said the G-5 crisis is between the governors and the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, not with Atiku.
But responding to the rally in a tweet on on his verified Twitter handle on Friday, Atiku said : “Oyo State, I heard you loud and clear yesterday. I take it warmly as a vote of confidence in me and our great party, @OfficialPDPNig. You proved that my love for the Pace-Setter State over the years is not in vain.
” My promise to you is this: we shall work closely together in the mission to Recover Nigeria – AA.”
