Former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, says the refusal of presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, to sign a Peace Accord ahead of next year’s elections remains a major threat to peaceful polls.
The Anambra-born Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and ally of Atiku Abubakar – flagbearer of his party, said the refusal of Tinubu to sign the Accord is a disrespect for accepted rules.
Chidoka, who made this known in a post on his social media page on Saturday, called on the media and civil society organisations to henceforth distance themselves from Tinubu until he signs the Peace Accord.
He said : “The APC candidate Governor Ahmed Bola Tinubu as of today has not signed the Peace Accord. This is clearly a red flag.
” I ask all media houses, and civil society to refuse further interaction with him until he signs the Peace Accord.
“Arrogant refusal to respect rules is now the hallmark of BAT.”
PlatinumPost reports that Peace Accord is normally sign by major contenders ahead of elections in order to prevail on them to shun any act that will promote violence before, during and after election.
