Deji Adeyanju is a Nigerian activist, social commentator, and former Peoples Democratic Party head of new media Deji Adeyanju (PDP).


He is the group leader of Concerned Nigerians, an organisation that supports democracy and effective government.


Deji Adeyanju was born on December 9, 1979 In Kogi State, Nigeria. He hails from Kogi State.


Deji Adeyanju is married and blessed with children.


He acquired his secondary education at the capital Secondary School, Kaduna.


He holds two degrees, one in Mass Communication at Bayero University, Kano State, and LLB at Baze University, Abuja.

Deji reportedly began his activism as a student union leader at Bayero University, Kano State, where he was politically persecuted and prosecuted for his activism.


He has since then registered himself as one of the outstanding Nigerian activists of this generation.


Deji Adeyanju has been detained several times as a result of his participation in demonstrations against the Nigerian government.

He oversaw the demonstration calling for Nnamdi Kanu, the head of the Indigenous People of Biafra, to be released (IPOB).


In addition, he was the protest leader who got controversial blogger Kemi Olunloyo released.


Deji Adeyanju was jailed at Kano prison for 78 days after being arrested in 2018 on suspicion of murder.


The Kano state high court, however, released and cleared him of all charges in 2019.


2018 saw 6 arrests of Deji Adeyanju. On one of those times, terrorism-related charges were brought against him.


In 2019, He organised a rally to call for the freedom of blogger and proprietor of Sahara Reporters Omoleye Sowore.

In 2020, Deji Adeyanju organised the October 1st protest in Abuja to denounce President Buhari’s administration’s poor leadership.

He was one of the prominent figures during the 2020 Endsars protest, and one of the few people who took to the street to commemorate the first anniversary of the movement in 2021, despite several threats by the government and the police.


Deji Adeyanju has an estimated net worth of $1 Million.
