 First Baptist Church Gwagwalada celebrates annual harvest thanksgiving

First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja has celebrated its Annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service.

In a sermon entitled “Yet, I Will Rejoice In The Lord” to mark the Thanksgiving Service in Gwagwalada Abuja, the Minister in charge of the Church, Reverend Deji Oyelami admonished christians to always imbibe the spirit of thanksgiving to God to further ensure breakthrough in their endeavours.

Reading from the book of Habakkuk Chapter 3 verse 17 to 19, the Cleric said one of the ways to attract God’s favour and blessings is to show appreciate to Him at all times irrespective of the situation surrounding them.

While highlighting the benefits of thanksgiving, Reverend Oyelami explained that God is always faithful to those who seek Him with their substance noting that God loves a cheerful giver.

He equally stressed the need for them to develop keen interest in assisting the need and less privileged in the society in accordance with the teachings of the Bible.

The Cleric enjoined christians to always engage in positive venture and shun acts that could hinder their thanksgiving and blessings attached to it.

According to him, the Annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service which is line with the doctrine of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, NBC, was to appreciate God for all His goodness upon members of the church since the beginning of the year.

In their separate remarks, the President of Men Missionary Union, MMU, of the Church, Mr Thomas Adekambi and the Women Missionary President, Mrs Grace Adekola appreciated God for His faithfulness over all members of the Church.

They prayed to God for continuous protection and progress of both the church and entire members.

Highlight of the Thanksgiving Service was special prayer for God’s intervention in the nation’s economy.
