President Muhammadu Buhari is to confer national honour on former President, Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Halilu Dantiye.
Dantiye, who is a member of National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies(NIPSS), Secretary of Kano State Steering Committee on Ease of Doing Business, Chairman, Technical Committee on Kano State Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Project, was Director General, Media and Communications, to Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje and his predecessor, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
A letter dated 19th September,2022 and signed by Senator George Akume, Minister for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, said President Buhari has approved the conferment of the national honour , Member of the Order of the Niger, on the versatile journalist.

The letter reads:’’ I have the honour to formally inform you that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the conferment of the National Honours on you, in the rank of MON, (Member of the Order of the Niger).’’
According to the letter, the investiture ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, 11th October, 2022.
