First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada, Abuja, has marked this year’s Girls Auxiliary, Coronation Service.
In his sermon to mark the service, the Minister in charge of the Church, Reverend Deji Oyelami admonished Christian young girls to always shun immoral act and be good ambassadors of their families.
Reading from the book of 1 Kings 18: 38 to 39, Reverend Oyelami also encouraged them to be dedicated to the service of God towards attracting His blessings in their endeavours.
While expressing concern over the attitude of some christian young girls due to the present economic challenges in the country, the Baptist Cleric enjoined them to be steadfast in faith and prayers to overcome difficulties in life.
He stressed the need for them to be committed to their academics to enable them contribute to the progress of the country.
According to him, the joy of every parents is to see their children succeeding hence the need for them to desist from bad friends and influence that could hinder God’s plans for their lives.
Reverend Oyelami equally advised parents against misleading their daughters due to pressure and economic situation adding that everyone would give account of their stewardship to God
In a remark, the G A Director of the Church, Mrs Iyabode Moneyin said the essence of service was to further remind G A members on what is expected of them in Christianson.
Mrs Moneyin therefore advised them to shun immoral dressing and all acts detrimental to the doctrines of Nigerian Baptist Convention
Highlights of the G A Coronation Service is the promotion of qualified members to their new steps.
