Hoodlums suspected to be ritual killers have beheaded a 37-year-old security guard identified as Anthony Egbo, at Elebele Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
It was learnt that the incident occurred Wednesday night on the premises of the Living Faith Church, otherwise known as Winners Chapel in the community, where the deceased was a private security guard.
It was gathered that the assistant pastor of the church discovered the mutilated corpse of the victim on the church premises.
A resident said the head of the deceased was severed from the body while the throat was missing.
Police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the killing, said the corpse had been recovered and deposited at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa for autopsy.
He said investigation was ongoing into the incident.
