UniAbuja s graduate wins N 45m NYSC Access Bank s grant

A graduate of Accounting from the University of Abuja, Okuboye Michael, aka has won a total of N450,000 (N.45m) grant at Access Bank’s Accesspreneur Business Plan Challenge finale, following his presentation of a robust business plan.

Michael, a former spokesperson of the UniAbuja’s Students Union Government, was announced winner at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory, on Thursday.

The Accesspreneur challenge set off to summon the entrepreneurial ideas of youth corps members of the NYSC Batch B, Stream 2 Service Year, and to promote the entrepreneurial aspirations of talented corps members by providing a platform for them to sell their ideas and invest commensurate financial grants into workable business plans.

Michael had submitted his business plan entry at the kick-off of the competition, which underwent a thorough screening process, and made it to a 30-slot shortlist consisting three corps members from each of the 10 platoons, for the second round of contests.

The top winner and first runner-up earned a princely sum of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira) and N700,000 (Seven Hundred Thousand Naira) respectively.

In another contest, Michael won the sole prize of N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira), for his Twitter version of the business’ pitch which attracted the most overall engagements, and garnered the highest number of likes, retweets, and commendatory comments.

“I am dedicating this win to the Almighty God who has always been by my side. He made it easy for me to work hard for this competition, and I am glad my hardwork has paid off,” the graduate of University of Abuja says.
