 2023 Niger Delta s group tasks Nigerians on electing credible leaders

 

The President of Supreme Niger Delta Youth Council Worldwide, Prince Michael Ekamon, has called on Nigerians to ensure the emergence of credible and competent leaders in the 2023 general elections.

He made the call while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.

Prince Ekamon, who is also the National Coordinator of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Leadership Forum, attributed the slow pace of the country’s development to lack of good and competent leaders over the years.

According to him, the time has come for Nigeria to get it right in next year’s elections by voting for those who have the interest of the country at heart.

He therefore enjoined Nigerians to shun politics of religion and ethnicity in their choice of leadership during the polls.

While expressing confidence in the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct a free, fair and credible 2023 general elections, Prince Ekamon enjoined all stakeholders to support the Commission in ensuring the success of the poll.

He also stressed the need for all politicians to shun acts detrimental to the successful conduct of the polls.

In a remark, the Legal Adviser of Supreme Niger Delta Youth Council Worldwide, Wilfred Okoi advised youths to avoid been used by selfish politicians to forment trouble before, during and after the 2023 polls.

He noted that the task of ensuring the emergence of patriotic leaders at all levels of governance in next year’s elections required the commitment of Nigerian youths.

The Legal Adviser used the opportunity to call for urgent resolution of the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, strike in the interest of the nation’s education sector.

According to him, no nation can develop without good and qualitative education for its citizens adding that Nigerian students should rise to electing those with good vision for the growth of Nigeria’s education industry.
