Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State was on Thursday evening seen with governors Nyesom Wike and Okezie Ikpeazu of Rivers and Abia States respectively.
Wike and Ikpeazu have been on holiday in Turkey for days.
The three People’s Democratic Party governors had in a few days ago alongside six other of their colleagues shunned the inauguration of the PDP campaign team for the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.
PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke, is said to be one of the favourites to win the election but the decision of the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, to pick Governor Ifeanyi Okowa instead of Wike, has weakened the party ahead of the Osun polls.
PlatinumPost reports some governors in Wike political camp, including Ikpeazu, Samuel Ortom and Makinde are said to be at dagger-drawn with the party over the Atiku’s decision.
However, the photo of the three governors in Turkey has been sparking some speculations on social media, especially in light of recent expressions of disaffections in the Peoples Democratic Party.
A Facebook user, Mike Onwukwe, who shared the photo said, “Govs Wike, Ikpeazu and Makinde holidaying in Turkey. Something is cooking, they will serve it when ready.”
A tweep, Ukaegbu Nnadozie Princewill said, “These guys are cooking something hooge.”
Meanwhile, Adesina Samson dismissed the trip as inconsequential. He said, “Is their presence in Turkey solutions to myriad of problems confronting Nigerians? Absolute inconsequential.”
