Faizu Ibrahim Alfindiki, the Chairman of, the Kano Municipal Council has enjoined eligible voters in the north to obtain their permanent voters’ cards to strengthen the region’s voting numerical strength.

Alfindiki, who was speaking in Kano at a stakeholders meeting tasked relevant authorities within the region to deploy maximum attention to the ongoing voter registration exercise to demonstrate that the region’s voting pattern is not a fluke.

The Metropolitan Council Chairman said a number of committees that cut across groups have been constituted by his council to achieve the set goal.

He explained that Kano’s political strength lies in its voting population, stressing that the ongoing exercise provides an opportunity to consolidate the position.

Alfindiki stressed “Kano is the most populous state in the federation, and can’t afford to crawl behind any state when it comes to voter registration. Therefore, we have taken measures to register our eligible voters that are yet to be captured by INEC.

He disclosed that henceforth, casual workers are to provide their PVC to get their allowance in line with civic responsibility.

Henceforth, we have made it compulsory for casual staff to present their PVC as evidence to qualify them for payment of their stipends, Alfindiki stressed.
