  Kaduna Airport shut down over insecurity

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, says the airport located in the state has been shut down over insecurity.

The 2023 People’s Democratic Party governorship hopeful, made this known in a post on his verified Twitter handle while reacting to a threat by airline operators in the country to suspend operations.

Sani called on the Federal Government to act swiftly to avoid the shutdown of the aviation sector.

He said : “The Federal Government must act immediately, to prevent the impending shutdown of the aviation sector tomorrow.The Kaduna Airport has since been shutdown because of insecurity.”

PlatinumPost reports that one of the airline operators in the country, Azman Air, has already shut down its operations with effects from Monday.

Azman Air announced an indefinite suspension of its flights across the nation on Saturday night, in compliance with the directive of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to shut operations over hike in aviation fuel.
