Abuja Compensation layout Kutunku demands transformer concrete poles from AEDC

Residents landlords of Compensation Layout 4, Old Kutunku in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory have called on the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC,  to provide 150 concrete poles and two transformers to the area.

The Chairman of the Residents Landlords, Professor Owojecho Omoha, made the call during a visit to the AEDC Headquarters in Zone 4, Abuja.

Professor Omoha said the call became necessary to alleviate electricity challenges confronting the area due to lack of adequate transformers and concrete poles that could cater for electricity needs of the commuity

According to him, almost all the electric poles procured by Residents Landlords about 10 years ago have collapsed hence the need for AEDC urgent intervention.

He stated that the existing transformer serving the community is also no longer enough due to loads as a result of more buildings coming up in the area.

While expressing concern over electricity supply in the community, the Chairman of the Residents Landlords appealed to AEDC to step up its electricity supply to the community to improve the domestic well being of the residents.

Professor Omoha explained that the Residents Landlords had been patriotic through regular payment of their electricity bills and protection of AEDC facilities hence the need for AEDC to reciprocate by serving them better.

Responding, AEDC Head of Operations and Maintenance, Mr Elisha Yakubu ,who received the Residents Landlords,  promised management’s intervention into their requests for improved service delivery.

Mr Yakubu said the present epileptic power supply being experience in the community was due to some falling poles due to rain.

While soliciting the continuous collaboration and support of the Residents Landlords, Mr Yakubu said AEDC would not relent in serving them better.
