The Commander General of Nigeria Hunters and Forrest Security Service, NHFSS, Ambassador Joshua Osatimehin has felicitated with christians on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration.
In his Easter message in Abuja, Ambassador Osatimehin admonished them to use the occasion in praying for the country to overcome its security and economic challenges.
According to him, this year’s Easter calls for sober reflection hence the need for christians to imbibe the lessons of the season which includes sacrifice, love, perseverance and commitment to the service of God and humanity.
He stressed the need for them to always emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ who gave His life for the salvation of mankind.
“Easter celebration is very significant in christiandom therefore the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ can only be meaningful in the lives of christians if they Imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ in all their endeavour to further ensure the betterment of the society and the country in general” Ambassador Osatimehin stated
According to him, NHFSS has mobilized its officers across the country to compliment the efforts of formal security agencies in ensuring the protection of lives and property during and after the Easter celebration.
“I have already directed and instructed NHFSS Commanders in the 36 States of the Federation and the FCT to mobilize officers in their various commands to work with formal security agencies in ensuring a hitch free Easter celebration nationwide” the Commander General explained
Ambassador Osatimehin also advised all Nigerians to always be security conscious and report suspicious movement to security agents to curtain the activities of criminals that may want to take advantage of the season to perpetrate their unpatriotic activities.
He noted that the task of ensuring effective security require the collective support and cooperation of everyone.
The Commander General expressed the hope that with the continuous support and prayers of all Nigerians, the country would soon take its rightful place among comity of nations.
