Nigerians have reacted to the special arrangement which will see an individual paying N500,000 for flight ticket to Garoua, Cameroon on Tuesday.
PlatinumPost reports that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will battle with Egypt in Garoua on Tuesday in the ongoing African Cup of Nation (AFCON) tournament, prompting Air Peace to roll out the arrangement.
Air Peace had in a post on his verified Facebook page on Sunday called on interested Nigerians to take advantage of the flight.
It said :”Special flight to Garoua
” Air Peace will be operating a special flight from Abuja to Garoua, in Cameroon on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
“Flight departs Abuja – 15:20hrs
Flight departs Garoua – 20hrs
” Members of the public who wish to join the flight can make payment immediately.
“Fare : 500, 000 naira (return).”
The post prompted torrents of reactions, with many describing it as scam.
According to Dominion Osemudiamen Ashuman, “I suspect this is a scam. I am a travel agent & booking can never be done this way.”
Another Facebook user, Ike Asadu said : “500k from Nigeria to Cameroon? That’s overpriced and exorbitant
Cameroon that shares border with Naija?”
Kelvin Nelson Cezar : “500k for 2 hours flight.. from Abuja to sao Paulo is 390 to 400k almost 18 hours on air.. just 2 hours on air you are saying this amount.”
Flourish Ifunanyachi Ajuma : “This is pure scam o, this account might have been hacked.
“500,000 naira is it that the naira has no value or garoua is far?
Anyway I can make available our fleets of speedboats for 150,000 to and fro, its safe and every passenger with a life jacket. Abeg wetin be 500,000 for trip of 55minutes.”
