Former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, has condemned in strong terms the gestapo manner which operatives of the Nigerian Police Force invaded an Anglican Church to arrest Uche Nwosu on Sunday.
PlatinumPost reports that the police personnel reportedly stormed the church in Imo State on Sunday, shooting sporadically before they finally arrested Nwosu, who was a governorship candidate in 2019 election.
Speaking on the ugly development in a post on his Facebook page on Sunday, the Anambra State-born People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, said the nation’s christian community as well as other Nigerians must not allow the invasion of the worship centre to go unpunished.
Chidoka said even during the World War II churches were never desecrated by those in authorities, adding that the recent development has plunged the Nigerian police to a new low.
His words : “So Police entered a Church and arrested Uche Nwosu? They desecreated the Church to make an arrest?
” This is unacceptable and the Church and all well-meaning Nigerians should not take this lying down.
“Even the Nazis respected the Church during the 2nd World war. Nigerian Police just fell to a new low under a clueless national leadership.
” Mad people everywhere.”
