Former Senator for Kaduna Central Senatorial District of Kaduna State, Shehu Sani, has given reason why lawmakers in the red chamber of the National Assembly hardly engage in a fist fight.
Sani, in a post on his Facebook page on Saturday, said unlike the Ghanaian parliament and the House of Representatives that usually witness such brawls, the Senate is mainly consist of elderly people.
He said : “I have seen the exchange of blows in the Ghanaian Parliament. It’s not possible for exchange of blows to happen in the Nigerian Senate, but it can always happen in the House of Representatives because they are much younger and energetic. Most Senators are aged people and retirees.
“You can’t imagine Senators like Philip Aduda, Abdullahi Adamu or Jerrimiah Useini or Jonah Jang exchanging blows. There are very few people like me who are muscular with six packs.”
PlatinumPost reports that Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the National Assembly between 2015 and 2019 under the banner of All Progressives Congress (APC) recently joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
