Former Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Friday arrived Gambia to monitor the country’s presidential election.
Jonathan, who lost his 2015 presidential re-election bid, is part of the elders forum monitoring the poll in the West African country.
Jonathan made this known in a post on his verified Facebook page on Friday.
He said : “In Banjul, ahead of the Gambian Presidential election, with members of the West African Elders Forum(WAEF).
” We wish the people of The Gambia a peaceful and successful election. – GEJ. ”
PlatinumPost reports that the Gambian presidential election will be held in the Gambia on 4 December 2021.
There are six qualifying candidates including incumbent Adama Barrow who are contesting the election.
