Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has condoled his Kano State counterpart, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje over the death of Mukhtar Adnan, Sarkin Bai.
PlatinumPost reports that Adnan, who was the longest serving kingmaker and district head of Dambatta in Kano died on Friday at the age of 95.
Expressing sadness over the death, Governor Badaru in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations, Habibu Nuhu Kila, described the death of Sarkin Bai as a great loss not only to his family and people of Kano State but the nation in general.
The statement obtained by PlatinumPost said the late Adnan contributed immensely to the political development of this country especially when he was Chief Whip of the Federal House of Representatives during the first Republic, and also a seasoned administrator who served as district head of Danbatta and Kingmaker at Kano Emirate Council.
The governor then pray to Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
