Gunmen on Friday evening went on a rampage in three local governments in Imo state.
The gunmen were said to have attacked Umulogho in Obowo local government, killing three people.
They were also said to have set ablaze motorcycles in Isinweke in Ihitte/Uboma LGA and Oriagu in Ehime Mbano LGA.
Michael Abattam, spokesperson of Imo state police command, confirmed the incident.
“It’s confirmed, three dead. Details soonest please,” he said.
There have been attacks by gunmen in Imo in recent times.
The attacks have been blamed on the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) — but the group has repeatedly denied the allegation.
