Officers of the Nigerian Police Force have sealed the Plateau state house of Assembly over the recent crisis rocking the Plateau State House of Assembly.
The speaker, Ayuba Abok was impeached by over 16 lawmakers earlier this week and replaced with Yakubu Sanda who represents Pengana constituency.
The matter didn’t go down well with Abok who resorted to protests and holding parallel plenary sessions.
The Police Command in the state has sealed the complex and barred entry into the complex until further notice.
Speaking on the development, a member of the house, Timothy Dantong disclosed that the police has informed the two warring factions in the assembly.
“The impression they have is that we are having a crisis. So, they (police) decided to come and seal the Assembly complex. We are aware that the AIG gave the order that none of the factions should come into the Assembly complex for now until everything is sorted out.”, he said.
