Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Governors (PDP) Governors Forum, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, of Sokoto State, says the nonperformance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) especially at the federal level is affecting PDP’s performance.
Tambuwal made the remark in Bauchi on Monday when he led 11 PDP Governors and the embattled deputy governor of Zamfara State Mahdi Aliyu, to commission the Government House Annex, Bauchi.
The project which is still ongoing will gulp over N6 billion.
Speaking shortly before he commissioned the project, Tambuwal, explained that Nigerians are praying and hoping for the time that the PDP will restore good governance in Nigeria.
“The federal government is not performing, yes and its nonperformance is affecting us. It is already affecting the entirety of Nigerians. We are feeling the impact of the bad governance at the centre,” he lamented.
Tambuwal opined that “all our governors in PDP are performing well to the glory of God. And we seek for your continuous support”
He commended the courage of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State for completing the Government House project started 30 years ago.
“It takes someone who believes in good governance to complete a project that was started 30 years ago,” the Sokoto State Governor, said.
“PDP believes that governance is a continuum and any project that is meaningful and will add value to the lives of our people that we inherit, be they of the opposition or for the same we will continue as a matter of governance with those projects. That is exactly what Governor Bala Mohammed has done,” he stated.
Tambuwal said the forum expected no less from Mohammed arguing that the Bauchi State governor has excelled as a minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a Senator and now as governor.
“We are indeed proud of you. Several of us have been here to either commission projects or lay foundation for various projects in Bauchi State. The sky is the limit,” he stated.
Speaking earlier, Governor Mohammed said he took the privilege of the PDP Forum meeting billed to hold later in the day in the state to unveil the project which is partially completed.
“I must thank you for having the patience because it is out of our protocol and established patterns but you have the patience to wait.
“On behalf of myself and the people of Bauchi State we thank you for giving us this honour. We have never hosted 15 governors in the state or in this part of the country that is why we leverage on your presence because I know you are the representatives of God in your state delivering services and infrastructure and leadership and that is why we take cognizance of that. We are very sorry,” Governor Mohammed stated.
“We are highly honoured and you can see all our leaders and emirs are here just to witness this occasion,” he said
Governor Mohammed explained that the partially completed Bauchi Government House Annex “marks the beginning of Bauchi renewal from government House.
