A student of Borno College of Nursing and Midwifery, Maiduguri, has been reportedly suspended for failing to join her colleagues to receive President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to Maiduguri, the state capital a few days ago.
The student, whose name cannot be ascertained at the time of filing this report, received the hammer of the school through a letter signed by the provost.
The letter reads; “You are hereby suspended from the college for one week with effect from today 21st June 2021 for disobedience of executive order to Welcome the President of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari GCFR, GCON (on the 17th of June 2021).
“You are expected to report back to college on the 28th of June 2021 along with your parent or guardian.”
PlatinumPost reports that Buhari was in Maiduguri last week Thursday for a one-day official visit amidst tight security.
Buhari was in the state to assess the security situation in the North East, which is the theatre of insurgency and terrorist attacks.
He was received by the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum top government officials in the state and large crowd of residents of the state.
