The Ahavwa Kingmakers of Ewu Urhobo in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday made a U-turn to crown Gabriel Ohwodje Macaulay as the new king of the Kingdom
HRM Macaulay was on Wednesday crowned by the Okpara of Ahavwa Kingmakers, Dr Phillips Ebirerehi in Conformity with the customs and traditions of the land at about 10:10 am.
PlatinumPost reports that last week, One Prince Bernard Awarieta was crowned by Ahavwa , situation that resulted to internal crisis in Ekade before it was corrected, leading to the crowning of HRM Macaulay as the new traditional ruler.
Speaking to journalists, the Okpara of Ahavwa Kingdom, Dr Phillips Ebirerehi said: “Today, the wrong has been corrected and as the most qualified person to do the crowning, I have crowned the King of Ewu Urhobo Kingdom and in Ewu Kingdom, it is Ekade ruling house that will select the king after which Ahavwa Kingmakers will crown.
“I want to state categorically that the previous person crowned is not entitled to be the king and those that did crowning are not even qualified to do so and all what they did is rejected and not granted.”
It was gathered that amidst the six contestants, Gabriel Ohwodje Macaulay was the most qualified candidate and was declared the ovie elect without any crisis but suddenly a group of persons in the kingdom woke up to Crown Prince Bernard Awarieta as the King, a situation that had been brewing crisis in the area before the decision to crown Chief Macaulay Gabriel Ohwodje as the new king.
