The indigenous people of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the aegis of Abuja Original Inhabitants Youths Empowerment Organisation (AOIYEO), has admonished Muslims to use the occasion of this year’s Eidel-el-Fitri to pray for national peace and economic development of Nigeria.
In his Eidel-el-Fitri message in Abuja, the President of AOIYEO Commandant Isaac David, congratulated Muslim faithfuls across the country on the completion of the month long Ramadan fast.
David further urged Muslims to reflect on the lessons learnt during the preceding month of Ramadan towards sustaining Allah’s blessings in their endeavours.
He stressed the need for them to continue to imbibe the teachings of Ramadan in their daily lives, which are premised on selflessness, sacrifice, patience, modesty and spirituality.
“I enjoin you to continue to pray for the nation as it strives to overcome security and developmental challenges that all nations go through in their history, ” he stated.
David also used the occasion to call on all the residents to join hands together to pray fervently for peace in the forthcoming FCT Area Councils election scheduled for February 2022.
He equally called for prayers for the FCT Minister, Muhammad Bello and his colleague, the FCT State Minister, Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu for their keen interest in tackling security challenges in the nation’s capital territory.
He emphasized the need for residents irrespective of their religious belief and political inclination to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another especially in a time like this.
He also advised the youths to key into the programmes of the present FCTA, expecially the Householdand Community Sanitation Campaign of the FCT Administration in order to put Abuja environment on a sound pedestal, which will impact positively on the overall health condition of the communities.
“Improved personal hygiene and removal of environmental nuisances across the Federal Capital Territory, will aid the FCT Administration and collaboration with the residents in this area will go a long way for the success of the clean Abuja project campaign,” he added.
