Aggrieved Nigerians on Twitter have vehemently rejected the plea by Islamic Cleric Sheik Ahmad Gumi urging the federal government to pay the ransom demanded by the abductors of Greenfield University students.
Gumi, who stated this in an interview with The PUNCH, advised that the Central Bank of Nigeria must pay the N100m ransom asked by the kidnappers of the students.
He said “The money they are asking for is too much; if I give you that money, you cannot run away with it. Nobody can run. So, why not give them the money, they release the boys and then we pursue them and get our money back and do what is necessary; it is simple logic, ”
“So, bring the money from the central bank. How can they move that money? We should not be stupid. These people are getting infiltrated; Boko Haram is getting close and they don’t respect the clergy.
However, Twitter is agog Wednesday because of the Islamic cleric’s position on the abducted Greenfield students.
Many Twitter users opposed Gumi’s call for the federal government to pay the 100 million Naira ransom demanded by the bandits.

Sheikh Gumi tells CBN to pay the Greenfield terrorists the 100million naira “before it’s too late”.
IF any Greenfield student gets killed again, that man should be arrested, interrogated and jailed if proven to have any links to those terrorists.
But that is in a sane country.

Gumi is not just a mentor, he’s an accomplice. Buhari will not be here forever, this man’s case needs to be re-visited. This is enough intel for DSS to know he knew something.

Gumi is definitely benefitting from all these kidnaps, no doubt about it. 😠

Gumi says CBN should pay N100m ransom for Greenfield students that were kidnapped in Kaduna before it’s too late.
Gumi is busy whitewashing bandits that are kidnapping, killing & causing insecurity in Nigeria, and he’s still a free man & not in DSS custody. This country na wa.

NBC should use the same energy they used to suspend Channels for interviewing Emma of IPOB to suspend AIT for interviewing Gumi who has shamelessly identified himself as a terrorist sponsor
