The youths who arrived the area in a trailer on Thursday, were arrested by operatives of the Ondo State Security Network, Amotekun, on suspicions that they were violent herdsmen.

According to Ikoro, the men said they got information the Nigerian Navy in Okitipupa was training men to be used as security guards for oil companies, an information which later turned out to be untrue.
He said they are presently in the custody of Amotekun operatives .
Speaking on the development, the chairman, Okitipupa Local Government, Igbekele Akinrinwa, who addressed the people at the scene of the incident , alleged that it was an indigene of the town that facilitated the travellers trip to the town.
