Funeral services have been planned for a mother of three children, Blessing Ugele, who died days after she was allegedly beaten by her husband in New Nyanya, Nasarawa State.
The funeral service will be held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in New Nyanya on 30 April, 2021 while she will be buried the following day in the same community.
Founder of Network Against Domestic Violence Foundation, Edoamaowo Udeme, made this known in a post on the Foundation’s Facebook page on Wednesday.
“UPDATE ON BLESSING EMMANUEL UGELE NEE OROK.BLESSING who died on April 7, 2021 from complications of Physical Domestic Violence from her husband will be buried this Friday (Saturday). She left behind 3 kids, ages 7, 2 and 1
“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend as I am far away. Meanwhile, the HUSBAND is still in Police custody,” Udeme, who also shared the obituary, said on Wednesday.
PlatinumPost reports that the woman, who was also a school teacher, was hospitalized for alleged jaw dislocation, internal bleeding and other complications before she gave up the ghost early this month.
“Emmauel (the husband allegedly) hit Blessing with a plank severally, her Landlady fainted in front of our house as she ran to tell us….
“She bled for 1 month, 2 weeks and 2 days from 3rd February 2021 to 7th April 2021 she also collected 11 pints of blood. She “MENSTRUATED” huge blood clots three times before she died,” Udeme, had quoted the deceased’s brother (Godwin) to have said.
The husband, who was on the run after the incident, is now said to be cooling his heels in the cell after he was tracked and arrested by men of the Nasarawa State Police Command.
But it was gathered that both families of the deceased have agreed to withdraw the case for the sake of her children.
