The seeming political conflict between the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and the Minister of State for National Planning, Clem Agba, appears to have assumed another dimension as the Edo government as allegedly announced the sack of Oliola of Uzannu Clan.
The Oliola of Uzannu Clan of South Uneme in Etsako East Local Government, Benjam Ikhane, is said to be a close associate of the Minister, who also hails from the same community.
In a letter, being circulated in the Social Media and signed by Osarodion Ogie, Secretary to the State Government, the Edo government also revoked the creation of Uzannu Clan with immediate effect.
The government hinged its decision on the flagrant disregard to peace agreement and government directive to maintain peace In Uzanu Community and its environs by the Oliola.
PlatinumPost that the governor had recently raised an alarm over billions of naira unaccounted for in the Benin Water Storm project, which was awarded by the Adams Oshiomhole’administration and supervised by Agba, who was the then Commissioner for Environment.
The governor, who is an in-law to the minister, also allegedly told traditional rulers recently, not to attend events organised by the Minister during his recent visit to the state.
Agba, a close associate of Oshiomhole and strong chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had in an open letter to the governor denied any involvement in misappropriation of funds in the Benin Water Storm Project even as he accused Obaseki of playing bitter politics.
