Executive Assistant to the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Communications, Fred Oghenesivbe, has said the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Jude Ogbimi, will defeat the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the bye-election for Isoko North State Constituency, scheduled by INEC to hold on Saturday, 10th April, 2021.
He made the assertion in Asaba on Thursday while speaking as Special Guest of DRTV current affairs programme, Morning Ride, live broadcast.
Oghenesivbe based PDP projected landslide victory on the political supremacy of the party in Delta State, several ongoing and completed projects of Okowa administration in Isoko Nation, the popularity and the sagacity of the candidate, Jude Ogbimi, noting that in contrast the APC is alien to the people which is further worsened by the frustration of bad governance and lack of internal democracy in the party.
“Election is not a tea party and can never be won through wishful thinking or by banking on the nonexistent “Change” which later gave birth to the “current level” of insecurity, poverty, huge debts occasioned by reckless borrowing; unwarranted medical tourism which gulped N400 billion from our national treasury under President Mohammadu Buhari’s watch and still counting.
“Election is not the same as struggle or crude fight over who becomes the chairman or leader of APC in Delta State, rather it is a deliberate and carefully planned electioneering project, coupled with deeply rooted and unbreakable grassroots connection with eligible voters.
“PDP Delta dwells in the realm of political and leadership reality, wherein the party superstructures maintains regular interface with the people, as partners in progress, for the attainment of government and citizens objectives.
“PDP Delta and the Okowa administration has an unbreakable bond with the good people of Delta and this political tangle has given birth to monumental gains in terms of socioeconomic and infrastructure development across the three senatorial districts. This is the reason why Deltans do not have a need for another political party, because PDP has been meeting their needs through good governance and visionary leadership.
“APC on the other hand has become the fierce enemy of Deltans and Nigerians, due largely to the socioeconomic and leadership failures of APC national government under President Buhari, who is currently in London for medical tourism that will cost this nation over a billion Naira; considering the cost of maintaining flight crew, overnights parking cost, travel allowances for presidential aides, and so on and so forth.
“Buhari could not build one standard hospital in five years. The question Nigerians are asking is; WHERE IS THE CHANGE BUHARI PROMISE NIGERIANS? Last Last, Nigerians don enter one chance bus. But in 2023, we shall exit APC national government of deception, nepotism and retrogression
“The list of APC unforgivable atrocities is endless; nepotism in appointments, selective justice via war against corruption, Fulani agenda against the populace, Fulani herdsmen killings and raping of innocent Deltans and Nigerians across the country, high electricity tariff, regular increase in pump price of fuel, high inflation rates, etcetera.
“In the light of the above, it is safe to assert that no right thinking Nigerian would like to identify with a party bedevilled by reckless impunity that had consistently undermined the unity and overall development of Nigeria.
“To identify with APC, is to identify with the enemies of progress in our country. This is the problem with APC and why Nigerians and Deltans have turned their back on the fast decaying party.
“Come Saturday April 10, APC will be rejected, once again, by eligible voters in Isoko North State Constituency. Our vibrant and visionary candidate, Hon Jude Ogbimi, who until now was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta state on Political Matters, shall sweep the polls and emerge as the winner on Saturday. He is likely to be sworn in either on Monday or Tuesday next week, by the special grace of God.
“Ogbemi will step into the big shoes of our erudite law maker and legal luminary, Hon Barr. Tim Owhefere, who has gone deeper than divers into high profundity of sleep,” Oghenesivbe said
