
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says 18 persons died on Saturday from COVID-19 complications in the country.
The agency which made this known in data posted on its verified Twitter’s handle early on Sunday , said Nigeria recorded 645 new cases of the virus while 505 patients were also discharged in the last 24 hours.
It said the newly posted data include the 222 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines, information from Borno State recorded over the last two days and the backlog of deaths recorded over the last month.

The agency said the latest figures have brought the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country since its outbreak to 151,553, discharge patients- 128,005 and the overall death toll of 1,831.
The public health agency said new cases of the virus were recorded in 20 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos and Ogun states top the list with 282 and 72 new infections while Bauchi and Jigawa recorded the least cases of three each.
Others are FCT-50, Kaduna-33, Osun-24, Imo-23, Abia-21, Borno-18, Oyo-17 and Edo-15.
The states also include Nasarawa-15, Taraba-14, Ekiti-11, Ondo-11, Plateau-11, Kano-10, Rivers-7 and Delta-5.
