Suspected arsonists in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State in the early hours of Saturday set ablaze Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in the area following alleged communal crisis.
The church building recently roofed, it was gathered, was still under construction works when the evil doers wreaked havock on it
Located at the outskirts of the town, sources said it was left in debris after the fire attack by the suspected arsonists.
But another conflicting report indicated that some persons set t fire on the church in order to steal plastic chairs in the church.

ASP Edafe Bright, Acting Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed that the police have intensified efforts with a view to ensuring that those behind the nefarious activities are brought to book.
“We are on top of the situation and we will ensure those behind the nefarious activities are brought to arrest soon,” he said.
Efforts to get reaction from the parish priest proved abortive as he said he declined comment on the issue.
Meanwhile, Saint Anthony College Ubulu Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state was at the weekend gutted by fire.
Mr Paul Odiakaose an old boy of the college, who spoke to our correspondent said that after visiting the school to verify the extent of the damage, it was gathered that the inferno may have been caused by bush burning perpetrated by some miscreants in the area.
He said that efforts of the state fire service to put out the inferno however paid off as part of the administrative block was affected.
