The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says no fewer than 16 persons died in the country on Thursday from COVID-19 complications.
The agency which made this known in data posted on its verified Twitter’s handle early on Friday, said Nigeria recorded 877 new cases of the virus while 695 patients were also discharged in the last 24 hours.
It said Thursday discharges include 275 community recoveries in Lagos State and 91 community recoveries in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines.
NCDC said the latest figures have brought the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country since its outbreak to 150, 246, discharge patients- 126,417 and the overall death toll – 1,803.
The public health agency said new cases of the virus were recorded in 25 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with Lagos topping the list with 273.
