Second Republic minority leader in the House of Representatives, Junaid Mohammed, has died.
The younger brother of the deceased, former House of Representatives member who represented Dala federal constituency in Kano, Ahmed Salik confirmed the death of Mohammed in an interview with PlatinumPost late Thursday night.
Salik revealed that Mohammed passed on some minutes to 9:pm Thursday night in the ancient city of Kano after a protracted illness.
According to family sources, Junaid died at the age of 71.
The Russian trained physician has been an ardent critic of poor governance in Nigeria.
Mohammed was elected a House of Representatives member both in the first and second republic.
He was equally a pioneer member of the Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC in 1993.
