Prominent Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement’s campaigner, Aisha Yesufu, has called on the Federal Government to stop using security operatives to terrorise protesters at the Lekki tollgate, Lagos.
Yesufu, who stated this in reaction to the arrest of dozens of protesters by police on Saturday morning, said the Nigerian constitution provides every citizens with the right to assemble and protest peacefully.
“The right to protest has always and will always be constitutional. The only way to stop a protest is to listen to the protesters and meet their demands. The terrorism by the Nigerian government had to stop,” the firebrand activist tweeted on Saturday.

PlatinumPost reports that over 20 protesters have so far been arrested by police with dozens of phones seized from many at the protest ground.
One of the coordinators of #OccupyLekkiTollgate, Kunle Ajayi, said the protesters were detained in a black maria and have be taken to an unknown location.
Popular comedian, Mr Marcoroni was among those picked up by the police.
The protesters, mostly youths, are kicking against the reopening of Lekki toll gate, where security personnel opened fire on #EndSARS protesters last year, leading to the death of some individuals with many others sustaining injuries.
