COVID-19 infects 1,479 Nigerians in 24hrs, death toll hits 1,405 – NCDC

As the second wave of COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says no fewer than 1,479 persons were infected with the virus on Thursday.
NCDC, which made this known via its verified Twitter’s handle late on Thursday, said 23 persons died from COVID-19 complications in the last 24 hours , bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths in the country to 1,405.
The public health agency said the overall number of infections is now 105,478 out of which 83,830 patients have recovered from the virus.

PlatinumPost reports that the new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in 24 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with Lagos topping the log with 697 followed by FCT with 201 infections.
