 JUST IN Nigeria records 1 565 new COVID 19 cases discharges 683 patients

Nigeria logged 1,565 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday just 24 hours after it reported a record daily number (1,664) of the dreaded virus in the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which disclosed this on its website, said six COVID-19 related deaths were also registered on Thursday while 683 patients who recovered from the virus were discharged.

“Our discharges today include 314 community recoveries in Lagos State, 158 in Kaduna State and 84 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines,” NCDC said.

The public health agency said that the total number of infections in the country is now 95,934 while the total death cases recorded in the country stand at 1,330.

It, however, stated that 77,982 patients had been discharged from the various isolation centres in the country, having tested negative to the virus.

The NCDC said that the new infections were from 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It said that Lagos state recorded the highest figure with 807 new cases, followed by the FCT and Kaduna with 236 and 79 new cases respectively.

Other states with new cases are Oyo-57, Plateau-47, Rivers-37, Katsina-35, Edo-30, Sokoto-30, Delta-26, Kebbi-23, Ondo-20, Enugu-18, Abia-17, Ogun-17, Benue-16, Bayelsa-15, Bauchi-14
Niger-13, Kano-10, Borno-6, Imo-5, Ekiti-4 and
