
Former Kano State governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, has called on Nigerians to pray for peace and unity of the country.
Shekarau, who is the Senate Committee Chairman on Establishment and Public Service, made the call in his New Year message.
In a statement made available to PlatinumPost on Thursday and signed by his media adviser, Dr Sule Ya’u Sule, the Senator urged all to remain patient and continue with good prayers to God for progress and an end to all the security challenges facing Nigeria.
While wishing Nigerians Happy New Year, the Sardaunan Kano harped on the need for peaceful coexistence irrespective of religion or tribal differences.

“The former Governor and Federal Minister of Education wished all Nigerians a joyous and peaceful new year celebration while expressing optimism that the year 2021 will see the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, insecurity, and violence and usher in greater prosperity to the Nigerian people.
“Senator Shekarau reaffirmed his belief in the country’s unity and trust in the common bond that binds all Nigerians together regardless of difficulties encountered in nation-building,” the statement added.
