Human rights activist and top Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaigner, Aisha Yesufu, has expressed concerns over the level of hypocrisy in the northern part of the country.
Yesufu, who was a few weeks ago announced as among the 100 most influential women in the world, said some northerners believe that since their kinsman is Nigeria’s President, there is no need to condemn bad governance and insecurity in the country.
She stated this on Sunday on her Twitter’s handle while responding to a tweet by one Nafeeu, who expressed disappointment over the lack of government proactiveness in the war against Boko Haram.

Nafeeu, with the Twitter’s handle @nafeezi had tweeted : “Boko haram terrorists in 9 trucks attacked 4 villages in Borno state.
Coming after the warnings by security forces of possible Boko haram attacks. Yet these villages were left defenceless and the Buhari regime is occupied with deployment of forces to stop #EndSARS protest.”
The post prompted the response of Yesufu, who sarcastically remarked that the North should send congratulatory messages to Buhari for the insurgents’ attack.
“The hypocrisy of the North will consume the North. They think they are in power when it is a tribe of incompetent and corrupt people that are in power. They should send congratulatory messages to Buhari,” she said.
