
Nigeria has recorded 712 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in the last 24 hours, the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) has said.
The public health agency said on its verified Twitter’s handle late Friday that four deaths from COVID-19 complications were also registered from across the country in the same period.
The newly diagnosed cases of COVID-19 were reported in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which bring the total recorded infections in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic to 82,747 cases with 1,246 deaths.

According to the NCDC, Lagos led in the new figure with 388 cases of the virus, followed by FCT (77) and Kwara (39).
Other with new infections are Katsina (35), Bauchi (33), Plateau (22), Ogun (18), Akwa Ibom (16), Delta (13), Osun (12), Kaduna (12), Yobe (11), Sokoto (10), Kebbi (8), Enugu (6), Edo (5), Ondo (3), Niger (2), Kano (1) and Oyo (1).
The NCDC further revealed that out of 83,747 confirmed cases in Nigeria, 70,239 patients have been discharged while 1,246 deaths have been recorded.
