The Kano State House of Assembly has elected member representing Makoda Constituency, Hamisu Chidari as new speaker.
His emergence comes up after the resignation of Abdulaziz Gafasa, the former speaker.
Gafasa in a resignation letter obtained by PlatinumPost disclosed he took the decision to quit on personal grounds.
A source in the Assembly had told our correspondent that a new speaker is expected to emerge during plenary later Tuesday.
