BREAKING : Nigeria records 324 new COVID-19 cases, discharges 176 patients



The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) says 324 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) infections have been recorded in the country in the last 24 hours.

The NCDC, which made this known via its verified Twitter’s handle late on Friday, said 176 patients were also discharged following recovery from the infection.

“Our discharges today include 70 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines,” NCDC said, adding that no COVID-19 related death was recorded in the country in the last 24 hours.

The public health agency said that the new infections brought the total number of cases in the country to 68,627.

According to NCDC the new infections were recorded in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It stated that Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with 115 cases, followed by FCT-110, Kaduna-57, Taraba-9, Akwa Ibom – 8 and Plateau-6.

Others are Bauchi, Ekiti, Kano and Katsina with 4 cases respectively as well as Rivers-3.

The NCDC said that till date, a total of 68,627 cases have been confirmed in the country, 64,467 patients discharged and 1,179 deaths recorded in the 36 states and the FCT.
