
Abdullahi Ramat has emerged as the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC after winning the primary election for Ungoggo Local Government area, held on Saturday.
The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, KANSIEC has slated 16th January, 2020 to hold the local government election.
Ramat who is the Director-General of Kano Metropolitan Agency defeated 22 other aspirants with in a landslide victory during the primary election.
The Chairman Election Committee, Umar Muhammad Rabiu, said Ramat polled 451 to defeat Abdullai Dantalata Karo who had 5 votes and Biliya Asasco with 3 votes while other aspirants had zero.
Speaking shortly after the declaration, Mr. Ramat who said the election was keenly contested appreciated God over the victory, the leaders of the party and those that voted for him on the confidence they reposed in him.
‘’I am highly elated over the victory due to the landslide victory, that indicated my popularity and acceptability among the people, ‘’said Abdullahi Ramat.
Meanwhile, Ramat on Monday obtained the nomination form from the Kano Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) to contest the local government elections scheduled for January 16 2021.
