Nigeria has recorded 246 new cases of COVID-19 infections within the last 24 hours.
The new number, which is higher than the 146 cases registered in the previous day brings to 66, 228 the total confirmed cases of the virus in the country, the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC), has said.
Figures posted on NCDC verified Twitter’s handle late Saturday night show Lagos State, the epiccentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria, having the lion share of the new infections with 66 cases followed by Plateau with-63.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded 48, Kaduna – 21, Bayelsa – 19, Rivers-12, Niger-9 and Ogun-4.
Others are Ekiti-2, Bauchi-1 and Osun-1.
The NCDC revealed that there was only one COVID-19 related death in the last 24 hours in the country, even as a total of 61,884 patients have so far been discharged while the death toll stand at 1,166.
