A Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) abandoned by government has been converted to a church in Uzebba community of Edo State.
The project, which has been abandoned for ten years, now plays host to a fast growing protestant church despite the absence of a public medical facility in the community.
This development has prompted a non-governmental organisation, Budgit, under its Tracka’s project, to call on Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, to act swiftly towards completing the abandoned project.
“Dear @GovernorObaseki, Here is an ABANDONED PHC in Uzebba, Owan West LGA, Edo State.
abandoned since 2010.
A place for diagnosis and treatment of disease has been converted to a worship centre for Christians in the area. Kindly help do the needful. #EndBadGovernanceinNIGERIA,” Tracka tweeted on Monday.
According to the non-governmental organisation, another PHC project in the same community that was captured in 2014 Federal Government’s intervention programme and allegedly nominated by former member of House of Representatives, Pally Iriase, is now overgrown with weeds.
