Vigilante operatives in Agbor towns in Delta State in the early hours of Sunday arrested four-man gang church burglars who specialize in stealing church property, particularly musical instruments.
The hoodlums were said to have been apprehended while trying to waybill the musical instruments worth millions of naira they had allegedly stolen from a Pentecostal Fellowship Ministry within Boji Boji Agbor towns.
Chairman of the Vigilante group known as Agbor Gha Ihun” Vigilante outfit, Mr Monday Kiyem who confirmed the arrest of the suspects to our Correspondent on the telephone said that the stolen musical instruments were already waybill and were about being moved to Lagos when Operatives of the Vigilante outfit acted on Intelligence gathering, disclosing that three persons: Adeyemi Yusuf, Bright Efoyoyen and Richmond Chibuzor Temple were arrested at Lagos park, Agbor while dispatching their loot.
Monday Kiyem said that the suspects upon interrogation, confessed to having robbed a church within Boji Boji Agbor and Asaba of their musical instruments, adding that they were in the process of dispatching them to Lagos State from Agbor towns when nemesis caught up with them.
They were said to have gained entrance into the church ( Anglican Church) in Boji Boji Agbor where they allegedly carted away many keyboards, mixers, amplifiers and heavy musical instruments as the leader of the gang identified as Richmond Chibuzor confessed they were contacted by their” Oga” in Lagos State through one Chiedu Popularly Known as Buffalo: hence they came from Lagos for the Operations.
Richmond Chibuzor further said that they were to stay back after Buffalo had received the items which included: keyboards, pianos, and various musical instruments and following instructions and details given to them for them to embark on robbing other churches when nemesis caught up with them.
Meanwhile, The vigilante operatives Chairman speaking further, said that the suspects named a close family member in the area as their link, and lauded the state government and the police in their synergy with the Vigilante outfit and other groups in the state, saying that such collaborative efforts would sustain the process of arresting criminals in the state.
The suspects have been handed over to the police in the area, while the police commissioner, Hafiz Muhammed Inuwah confirmed that the suspects would be charged to court on completion of the investigation
